Learning Behavior Specialist Endorsement
中北书院’s Learning Behavior Specialist Endorsement course sequence provides educators with advanced knowledge and skills to support students with a variety of low- and high-incidence disabilities. Completion of the following course sequence leads to eligibility for the State of Illinois LBS1 endorsement on an existing teaching license. Current State of Illinois teaching license is required. Candidates must have pre-existing transcript evidence of a cross-categorical methods of teaching children with disabilities course, 并且必须通过ILTS 290.
The Learning Behavior Specialist Endorsement is three courses (nine credit hours):
- MEDU 532 - Characteristics of 学生 with Disabilities (8/21/24 – 12/5/24 – 6/10/24, on-campus 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
- MEDU 533 - Methods for Teaching 学生 with Disabilities (1/6/24 – 4/25/24, on-campus 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
- MEDU 534 - Diagnosis and Assessment of 学生 with Disabilities (8/21/24 – 12/5/24, on-campus 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
Courses must be completed in order; there is no field requirement.

- Download and complete the Non-Degree Student Application.
- Submit official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions. Transcripts must show an earned bachelor's degree (if currently enrolled in a master's degree program) or a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, and a minimum grade point average of 3.00 during the last 60 hours of a bachelor's degree or 3.00 for a master's degree program.
Official transcripts must be submitted to the School of 研究生 and Professional Studies directly from the institution attended. Official transcripts can be sent by mail or electronically from verified services. Hard copy transcripts hand-delivered by students will be accepted if received in an official sealed envelope from the institution.
